Andre kim fashion show
A fashion show and dinner featuring the 2006 collection of Korean designer André Kim will benefit the Apparel Product Design & Merchandising Program (APDM) of the University of Hawai‘i College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resourcs.
The event will take place on February 15 at the Hilton Hawaiian Villages Coral Ballroom. Proceeds from the event will be used to establish an endowment at UH Foundation to support all facets of the APDM program, including developing and delivering curricula, purchasing equipment and supplies for courses, enriching student experiences in and outside the classroom, and providing scholarships to students. The event also celebrates the twentieth anniversary of KBFD-TV, Hawai‘i’s locally owned, independent television station featuring Korean programming.
Known for using top Korean celebrities in his elaborate shows, André Kim has recently K-drama stars Shim Jee Ho (Stained Glass), Kim Min Jung (Fashion 70s), and Hawai‘i favorite Jeong Joon Ho (The Twins, Marrying the Mob) as the main models of his Honolulu show. The stars will appear in the show's culmination sequence, a wedding scenario.
Students in the APDM program, CTAHR's largest program with more than 160 students, will have the opportunity to work backstage alongside Kim and his crew to help dress the models and set up stations during the rehearsals and the show.
