Linda Vojtova - the Fashion Spot
“When you walk for a designer or pose for a photographer, you try to give 100% of yourself because in the end it’s like a romantic relationship: you want them to like you so much that they call you again”.
Feminine, provocative, even ironic. Her clothes are only one of the ways she expresses her creativity. With those legs, there is nothing she can put on that wouldn’t make her look elegant.
Born in Prague, she started modeling at the tender age of 15. She was launched by the Elite Model Look and after having walked in the shows in Paris (for Sonia Rykiel, Louis Vuitton and Givenchy), Barcelona and Milan, she moved to New York at age 16 and that’s where she still lives today. She did her first cover at age 16 for Elle France. She has worked with the biggest photographers in the world from Steven Meisel to Patrick Demarchelier, from Peter Lindbergh to Steven Klein. She has a beautiful face and a sensual body and has represented many international campaigns for brands like Escada, Armani Collezioni, Diesel, Miss Sixty, Max Mara, but especially for lingerie brands like Palmers, Anna Club by La Perla, Wonderbra and, obviously, Victoria’s Secrets. She has blue eyes and dark blonde hair. Her face has been on the cover of many magazines from Vogue (France, Italy, Brazil and Australia), Elle, Acne, L’Officiel, Harpers Bazaar, Dazed & Confused, Allure, Flair, W and Velvet. Since her debut on the international runways in 2003, she’s walked for some of the most prestigious brands: Oscar de La Renta, Marc Jacobs, Chanel, Hermès. Calvin Klein, Alexander McQueen, Etro, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Miu Miu, Christian Dior, Céline, Chloè and Blumarine. In February during New York’s Fashion Week, a show celebrating her incredible ten years as a model opened. Linda is only 25 but the show Love Linda Vojtova features dozens of portraits of the model taken by masters of photography from veterans like Sante d’Orazio to younger photographers like Francesco Carrozzini, and many others including Amy Troost, KT Auleta, Paola Kudacki, Matthias Vriens, Ben Weller and Taka Mayumi. The show also aimed to help launch a new fashion line that is a project near and dear Linda’s heart: these jewels, called Love Universe, were sold during the show along with portraits of the model. Part of the proceeds from the auction went to the charity Sunflowerchildren, which was founded by the model Helena Houdova, another Czech model.
What can be said about her
She is charismatic, a perfectionist, versatile. All of these qualities that have guaranteed her a top career.
She’s young enough that she could walk the runways a few more years, but obviously a lot of her energy is dedicated to making jewelry.
Why settle for black when she looks good in all colors? She’s not intimidated by red carpets or major events and wears whatever she feels like, typically short dresses in pastel colors. In her day-to-day life she focuses a lot on accessories. Her preferred designers include Chanel (for bags as well), Balenciaga, Isabel Marant, Burberry and Louis Vuitton.
Sushi and Thai food.
She likes reading Milan Kundera and is very interested in economics.
She often does her own make-up and is very meticulous. She has learned to wash her make-up brushes in baby shampoo to keep them soft and long lasting.
In Nolita and the Meatpacking District in New York, but she’s always on the lookout for original ideas on the market, and that includes for her own creations.
Perhaps at the beach in the Caribbean. But she has traveled so much and at such a young age, that she likes to stay home in New York a lot.
